Back home in the AK, I probably end up stopping three or four times each winter to help someone push their car out of the snow, or up a hill, or something. It's just automatic. Most Alaskan's, Most of the time, seem to be willing to stop and try to help other Alaskan's with road trouble. And it usually just works.
Eitherway, don't let one old asshole get you done. It's good to be good people, and if there is any karma in the world then you can really make this whole world a better place by just helping an appreciative stranger change their tire.
