Well, that's it. I've officially spent more money than I should have. I bought an iPhone yesterday... and one for my lady for her birthday. Her birthday isn't for a week, but I figured I'd have to give it to her so she has time to decide to keep it. There won't be any in stores next week, I'm sure.
First, I showed her mine and let her play with it. She was so psyched on it. She had already been debating whether she wanted one or not, but after a few minutes she was sold. Besides, her previous phone is so jacked. It doesn't always show who's calling correctly. Like, it picks on of two names to show when it could be anyone. So, after she told me that I couldn't have mine back, I offered to trade her. She asked what I got, and I pulled out the wrapped one that I had hidden under something on my lap.
Apparently she liked it. Ha. What a geek, that girl. I'm a little embarrassed for her, actually.
Er, forget that I'm the one who sat in line for four hours on the Santa Monica Promenade in the hot sun waiting for the store to open.
It was really the best waiting in line experience I've had, I think, though. When I got the Wii, I showed up at 5am pretty drunk in my going out clothes after a night of K-Town karaoke. I fell asleep on the sidewalk in line in front of the Best Buy in Culver and woke up an hour later freezing and hung over. I had no water or anything much to do. That kinda sucked. Good thing Zelda was so good. Made up for it.
But this time I was in line with a bunch of fun people. Talked and stuff. The Apple employees handed out Smart Water to the hundreds in line, some guy was passing out copies of Jane magazine. ha. There was this 15year old kid a few people back who was sooo jazzed. He was such a cool kid, but he was so stoked to get one. When he was let in the store, he ran in like it was an NBA game and they had just called his name, high-fiving everyone on the way. One of the guys we were hanging out with got one of the Apple girls to give him a big hug. So funny.
So, back to the excess amount of outgoing money. Next week my girl and I are going to a sweet hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Totally last minute, so we didn't get much of a deal. But, again, it's lady's birthday, and a big one, so we're doing it all out. That's gonna be so nice. Can't wait for some days on the white Caribbean beaches.
The last thing, to add to it, is I had myself a little Amazon.com shopping spree. Nothing big, but I got the CHI Rocket hair dryer that I had been eyeing. That just came today. Very nice. I think I'm gonna take another shower just so I an dry my hair.
The rest of the stuff isn't so much, really, just a totebag, some Esse nail polish, a book... the little things you get when you're Amazoning.
I guess I'm jumping the gun. It looks very good that I'm getting a couple pretty good sized jobs in, so I'm sort of wishful-thinking-shopping, maybe. Well, something's gotta give. I think we'll get one of these jobs. I really do.
That about wraps up my crazy spree de la shopping. I better do some of the work that I was supposed to be doing while waiting in line yesterday. Bye!
