YAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!
Doggy found her home!
Turns out her name is Princess, very befitting of a black Staffordshire (pit bull), I think. I got an e-mail from her daddy, and he matched her description perfectly. Turns out the neighbors even saw me and my girl rescue her from the street. I was described as "someone with purple hair in a BMW." Well, I guess my girl's Corolla kinda looks like a beamer. ?? Good of them to rescue her themselves, huh?
The guy turned out to be super cool and had fought a homeless guy for her. Apparently, Staffordshires get used to breed with and fight bigger pits. It's all pretty barbaric. We ended up talking forever about politics and shit and it turns out he was in the same biz as me, sorta, a while back. He e-mailed me this morning again asking me to call him. He had made some calls and got me four tickets and VIP passes to the awards dinner of the Malibu Film Festival.
See? Doing good deeds does reap rewards. He had tried to offer me a golf club driver, which he makes custom for people and money for my expenses, but I turned hiim down. But, this, I won't turn down. How crazy. He was all like, "Network, connect with some people there... lie. Make some connections... some pretty important people will be there."
How crazy is that?
The best part, though, is that Princess found her home again. Well, we found it for her... she wasn't much help. Just ate and pooped a lot... knocked things over. Oh well, that has a place, I suppose.
And he feels that this isn't the right place for her, so he's giving her to a friend who has an estate or something in Temecula. She'll have acres to play on with a cool bulldog.
All's well that ends well, as they say. They. Them.
YAY!

No, my reel's not online. I have been in the process of puttin it on though. I just have a bunch of copies of it on dvd. What about you?
Oh I just got AE 7 Prof @ work and I really do hate pulling keys with 8 bit vid footage
Or do I shoot on 12? I forget, but either way, it sucks ass.
Ciao
Yeah, VF, 8-bit sucks. But if it's off a digi-beta, then it's really 10-bit. Switching AE up to 16-bit mode may help... except sometimes the telecine place, even if it has a DiVinci capable of higher than 8-bit, only has a data-spirit or other film scanner that sends an 8-bit signal. In which case, you're screwed whichever way you key. Of course, if you're using footage from DV or SP or anything 8-bit to begin with, may god have mercy on your soul.
PS. AE 7 is the lamest upgrade. At least it's 32-bit float now, like Shake. But yuck. What keyer are you using? The built in keyers are ass. Primatte 3.0 is the best AE keyer out there, although sometimes Keylight pulls off magic. 8-bit in AE makes you really miss keying Cineons and DPXs in Shake, don't it?
I say:
I tried pulling a key just using a combo of the spill supresser and the in/out mask thingy......I don't think I can convince my boss to get me any plug-ins. I just want my SHAKE
Looks like I'll be gettin good at pulling keys using the Matinee plug-in in FCP HD Pro. UuuGGGGG!!
I was getting mighty frusterated with the built-in keyers in AE though. I had like 4 diff garbage mattes goin on and the greenscreen was lit pretty well and my subject barely fricken moved. I thought that maybe I was just a bit rusty at pulling keys, but alas, I think it's more than that.
