Oh, my, goodness. What a two days these two days have been. My girl and I found a stray dog, took her in and have been embarking on that crazy task of trying to find her home. There are so many shelters, vets, rescues and what have you to contact.
This little black pit bull mix was in the middle of the street in the rain and there were two parked cars with people in them just sitting there. We stopped and checked her out, got her out of the street and tried to figure out what to do. But the little girl didn't have a tag and later we found she didn't have a microchip. So, no idea who she belongs to.
Of course, no good deed goes unpunished. She's already peed with joy three times inside and gave the corner of my laptop a new angle. And my sandals will never quite be the same.
But she's such a sweety. It's kinda heartbreaking that there's no real way for me to look after her right now while we're waiting for a reply that may never come from owners that may not even be looking for her.
It doesn't make sense though, because she's about a year old, super-friendly, house-trained (she usually goes outdoors), has been fixed, knows "sit" and "stay" kinda well, and rarely makes a sound other than snoring. Why would someone just let her go without a tag? And in a decent part of Santa Monica, no less?
I'm so sad knowing that if I'm gonna get any work done I have to take her to a shelter or something tomorrow.
I had wanted a dog, and made sure this apartment was dog-friendly, but I didn't get one yet cuz I knew it wasn't the right time and this isn't the right kind for me. The irony. The tragedy. I just hope she'll be okay. We're gonna miss her.

Shit........wish our place would take a bow-wow. I already got fishies and a micro-hamster. This makes me Xtremely sad ;'(
