NASCAR's punishment of suspened crew chiefs from the race weekend has failed to put teams who broke the rules at a disadvantage. Modern communication and work in the shops has led to teams such as Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth being sucessful 'without' their crew chiefs. Suspended crew chiefs Robbie Riser and Kenny Francis were both very active in this week's 'Car of Tomorrow' test at Bristol Motor Speedway. Perhaps it is time that NASCAR steps up its enforcement of the punishments for violating the rule book.
