My Girl & I just got back from the movies. We saw an Australian film called Wolf Creek
Very fucking scary!!
It's about a group of three travellers (one Aussie guy, two Pommy girls) who drive to a place in the Outback called "Wolf Creek Crater", the site of a meteor landing. They have a look around and when they get back to the car they find that it's not working. As night falls a stranger, named Mick
(probably a slight in-joke reference to Mick "Crocodile Dundee"), ventures upon them and offers to tow their car back to his camp and repair it. Back at camp Mick is a very charming, funny and charismatic guy. The three travellers, slightly wary and nervous of Mick, settle down in front of the fire and fall asleep. When they wake they find that they are no longer resting by the fire...
This film is loosely based on actual events that have happened in Australia to tourists travelling through the Outback. As I said, fuckin scary.
Still, it's worth watching as it's a well composed film (very dissimilar to how my Girl & I were when we left the cinema!). So, if you spot it around anywhere, have a look. It does show some beautiful landscapes that the Outback has to offer.
