Ahhh....it is so good to be back home. I'm back in my Nirvana. High speed internet, nice roaring wood fire, TIVO, chatting with hot women....could it possibly get any better than this? I suppose I should not bitch that much. It did give me an opportunity to actually kick back and read some during the down time with my family. I gave up on Chuck Palahniuk after finishing SNUFF and have moved on to Hunter S. Thompson. Sorry Chuck fans....that book was just horrible. I mean the premise was good and all but he pretty much shot blanks with the delivery of it.
I've been having a hell of a time finding books that really keep me interested lately. I'm notorious for picking up a book and losing interest after a few chapters. I so very hard tried to read Twilight...but just couldn't do it. Sorry all you little Twilightees out there. I found it boring.
I think the last good book I read was the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's a long book but beautifully structured. Although it did remind me a lot of the Da Vinci code. You cross that with Bram Stoker's Dracula and pretty much that is what you get with the Historian. It is worth the read though to just immerse yourself in the history and details of the Old Eastern Bloc pollitical advances, retreats, religious influences and how it all impacted their inhabitants throughout time. Yes, I know....I'm a self-admitted geek.
Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions of good reads out there....shoot them my way. I'm always desperate to find a good book to curl up with.
Again....did I metion it was good to be home? Can't wait to curl up in my own bed tonight!

I am thinking about taking a vacation in May and then I thought....could I really go anywhere that didn't have wifi and had to rethink the whole vacation thing.
Books....I recently read the Story of Edgar Sawtell and thought it was pretty good. I bought it for a gift for my mom....so that might say something about it...good or bad.
