Guess who the fuck saw Brian Setzer at work the other day? ME,ME,ME! Of cource you know that dear Pekoe played it cool as a can be. We were down to two servers and as luck would have it, I did not get to serve him. Oh no, that was saved for the nice yet yuppie boy server...grrrr He was there with his wife and in-laws and he looked as swank as can be. Everytime I went back into the kitchen I belted, "Sexy and 17" to the giggles of cooks who had no idea who Brian Setzer was. This is a sighn, oh yes...
I've been talking about the lack of rockabilly in this damn state and on top of that, the lack of women in rockabilly and psychobilly bands. We have Poison Ivy, Wanda Jackson, Janis Martin, Josie Cruzer, Kim Lenz and....????? On top of that only Poison Ivy does gritty bleeding psychobilly. Most of the women in the history of rockabilly have mixed it with a swing sound or a more tame do-wop bit. I want a crazy, freakin, shreakin bitch of a woman to whip rockabilly into shape.
So, the mainstream new-age god of rockabilly came into my work the other day and I'm thinkin' SIGN: I want a band. Now who can I stalk to make that happen
By the way, I got some more pics in my Spurned photos. A new buddy, Mark took them. We had fun with mud. Too many of them turned into what could be seen as sploshing (hehe) so I probably wont use them for anything...but it was fun to have a role in the mud and I think Mark is one kick-azz photographer
