I've gotta say, I love the current blog homework as traveling is one of my many addictions… my dad made sure it was in my blood from a young age, so I have had the opportunity to see a lot of the world for someone who is only 22. I've been to Mexico and Canada, I've seen the US from New York City to Venice Beach, (I've even been to Spain) so it was kinda hard to decide which adventure I've liked best!
but last summer my best friend, my boyfriend and I traveled to Las Vegas for the Electric Daisy Carnival and I must say, it was one of the most profound journeys of my life. it was my first time traveling across the country by myself and I was so excited that even navigating through airports during our layovers was a complete blast.
stepping out into that hot, dry Nevada air was like stepping out into heaven, never mind that the airline lost our luggage. it took us a minute to find our hotel, but being reassured that out suitcases would be dropped off in the morning, we decided to get some rest before the real party started.
and let me assure you, EDC is a party.
beginning at 7pm and running until 5am for three glorious days straight, you are delighted by all manner of people, lights and sounds. it's hard to say which moment of the weekend I liked best… from curious eyes watching me with my levitation wand at the circuit grounds stage, to sipping watermelon water while grooving at the neon garden stage to serious dancing at the epic post-apocalyptic basscon stage, the weekend went by all to quickly in a blur of peace, love and music.
luckily EDC comes to Orlando so I don't have to travel across the country to get down to some funky beats but this was truly another world and I can only hope I have the chance to feel that magic and wonder again in my lifetime. it was an experience I feel truly blessed to have shared with two of the closest people to me and it was an absolutely unforgettable weekend.
