Valentines Day 2009 (almost)
I like Valentines Day. I like the idea. I've always believe in free love. Not the hippie 60s sexual revolution. But the free love as in it is normal and healthy to love and give love away.Maybe it is the disabled person in me. I've grown up deprived of so much. I was a social outcast. Not in the sense I hung out with the stoners and other emo goth kids in high school but in the grander psychological sense.
I don't believe anyone should be deprived of the right to love and be loved. Sadly that is in fact a controversial opinion. Ask yourself "Does a person with the downs have the right to love and be loved?" I'm sure anyone with half a brain can see the social implications. But where does one draw the line? I don't think people really think about it. I don't blame them.
So on the eve of St. Valentine. Remember to love and be loved everyday.
