Greetings and Salutations! Or something like that
. The other night, I caught part of the British equivalent of the RNR Hall of Fame. Pete Townsend was inducting Pink Floyd into the hall. Nick Mason, I think, told a joke. A young boy told his mother when he grew up he was going to be a drummer in a rock n roll band. His mother said "you can't do both."
On a different note, I am still seeking info/help on this site, as to how to post pics, and other features of the site. The help section is ok, but a bit generic. Any assistance would be appreciated. How the groups work, any of that.
Cover songs, tribute albums, how do you (whoever you are)
feel about them? There is a recording a Black Sabbath tribute thing, called Nativity in Black. It is pretty good, with a surprisingly good rendition of Nativity in Black by Ugly Kid Joe. And Paraniod by Megadeth sounds like Popeye on Speed. But in a good way. And a cover that is not really a cover, Therapy doing a song with Ozzy on vocals. In the liner notes, Mike Bordin of Faith No More says that "Black Sabbath is the only band whose records I have actually worn out." They do War Pigs, and their singer blows one of the lines, and tried to cover by mumbling.
Type O Negative deconstructs Black Sabbath - you know, "What is this that stands before me..." I saw Type O at a show once - free tickets from a bud...The bill was Full Devil Jacket, Coal Chamber, one I cannot remember, and Type O. Type O blew the breakers twice. It was weird, cause for a short while all you could hears was a hollow drumming sound. After the show, we were stuck in a muddy parking lot, and had to push our car out of the mud. We also helped two young ladies get their car out. They thanked us by promptly leaving.
