Hung over. And getting my ass worked over on PokerStars.
Anywho.
Yesterday was an awesome day. Incredible. Did my first Mt. Hamilton ride of the year and decided to make it harder. I took my normal route, which included a 500 foot climb at 6.5%, an 1800 foot climb at 10.5%, and the upper half of Mt Hamilton, a 12 mile, 3000+ foot, 5% climb. Then, instead of riding all the way down Hamilton, 20 miles from James Lick Observatory to the bottom of the hill and then into downtown San Jose, I went back over the first two mountains straight home. They tore me apart, but I did much better than in years past.
57 miles, 7800 feet climbed, 5.5 hours in the saddle.
Which got me to thinking. Last year on January 17th, I hadn't started my riding season yet. Could have been the weather, me being lazy, whatever. I didn't go on my first ride till the beginning of February. This year, I've been on 8 rides for a total of over 200 miles. Feels good to be out early.

That is awesome! Good for you for doing the hard work a little early. You've been really committed to a better lifestyle and it's cool that the discipline thing is paying off and becoming a choice rather than a chore. Sounds like you're having some fun while you're at it, too.
