Been a while. Again. Every week or so I decide that I should write more, so I come to the ole innerwebs and sit here. All the things I think about all week long disappear, and my thought process goes to sleep mode.
Like any of that matters. Meh.
The Halloween concert with Redwood should be pretty cool this year. We're doing The Simpson's Theme, Sanit-Saens Danse Macabre, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Stookey's The Composer is Dead with narration by Limeny Snicket. We did play that one last year, but I love it, so I'm ok with repeating. It really is a great piece, the ending gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Still.
Plus, the bass bone player is out this set, so I'm playing principle and the principle is playing bass, and the sub is playing 2nd. Should be fun.
I decided to get back into Yoga a few weeks ago, and it had been going well until today. I started, warmed up, and went down to my first plank of the day, and a screaming pain shot up from my right hand. It ONLY hurts in that position. Weird. So, no Yoga today. Bike ride instead.
Need to get back out. I've felt overly tired lately, due to my non-activity. And my weight is STILL trapped at 195. My goal is now 180 by Thanksgiving. I don't think I will hit it, but oh well. Goals are made to be aimed for, not always hit. It's the work leading up to your so-called "deadline" that matters. And long term goals, at least for me, are more for a lifestyle or attitude change than something cement to meet at a certain date. That's just silly.
I did by a pair of trail running shoes and went out one day last week, and on my first day of running EVER (yes, never been out running before) I ran 3 miles through ST County Park. That hurt. Real bad. Lesson learned. Start slow. It's not a bike.
Time to go ride.
