So, I wanted to write about this whole same sex marriage thing, but really write about it, like research both sides' arguments and get it right, essay style. However, as I read the religious right/neo-con/crazy-ass-christians viewpoints, I grew more and more pissed off, so I got out of the house instead.
Really, it's getting stupid. Not a SINGLE argument against same sex marriage makes sense or can be backed up in reality, and the majority of them can easily switch the words "same-sex" and "inter-racial" and be the exact same thing those same religious crazies said the the 50's and 60's.
I just wish they could see that. I wish more people had the ability to look outside their own little box and realize that in order to have true Freedom, you're going to end up disagreeing with folks on some issues. That doesn't mean to ban it. It just means you have to let that disagreement take place. As long as it's not hurting anyone or anything and not hurting society, then shut the fuck up and go do your thing.
Anyway, that being said.... My summer is going to kick some serious ass. At least it WAS going to kick serious ass until an email I got yesterday.
So, outside of two (maybe 3) lessons I have on Sunday afternoon, I have managed to get all 21 private students scheduled over the summer for Monday and Tuesday. The two symphonies are still off for about another month.
Which means, Wednesday through Saturday is free time! I can't believe it, it's pretty sweet. LOT'S of time to ride, to practice, to do what-ever-the-fuck.
So, that email. I get an email from the band director of the high school in which I am using to teach a summer brass workshop. Apparently, the building I'm using is being re-roofed this summer. So, we can't be in it from 7am to 3pm. Well, I had lessons scheduled in there starting at 12, and then Brass Workshop at 2:30. This changes everything. I love the fact that nor I or the director heard about this time schedule until yesterday. And they start Monday. The next Brass Workshop. If only I knew, I would have announced it at the last one!
Now, I have to go and change everything. Oh well, I'll just be in there till late I guess. Fine with me, I ain't givin' up mah summuh frae-ness!
Time to go ride!
