Yup, I knew it. I felt like shit before I left on Friday, so I loaded up on the drugs and went anyway. I actually felt good while I was up there, Sunday when the exhaustion started to hit in. Or, possibly, it could have been the fact that somehow we drank from 11 in the morning to 1 at night on Saturday. Seven guys, two girls, a cabin in the woods, hundreds of beers, Whiffle Ball, downhill Radio Flyer races. Yes, of course we did.
Anyway, I felt good till the last day, especially round the time it was time to leave. And of course, with me being the adventurer I am, I had to take a different, somehow more exciting, route home. So I went north towards, but not into, Yosemite. Then I remembered I had actually been there before, and the road was crazy. (If you've been on 49, you know it. Like driving on the side of a cliff for a while.)
But I digress. The ride home was fun, no doubt. Even the getting-lost-in-fucking-Modesto part was neat. But it was crystal clear that I was not so well. I had to reload on the Day-Quill a couple times. What was a 3.5 hour with traffic trip up there turned into a 6 hour adventure home. Good times.
So, here I sit, sipping tea once again. I fell better. Not 100%, but better non-the-less.
And now it's time to go teach.
