Amazing rehearsal tonight. I didn't play everything perfectly, but still, it was pretty damn good. My tone was on, my intonation was as good as it has ever been, and my power was great. So I got to thinking What is stopping me from going much further? What is stopping me from going to the top and playing for a major symphony? Experience? Training? Reputation? These all could be factors, but they are also easily remedied.
Grad school. I am thinking more and more about just going for it. I really should. I should get out of the Bay Area and get on with my life. Grow up. Do the things I have always dreamt about. All I have to do is get back on a regular practice routine, get back into lessons, and get out there. Long Beach? Cal Arts? East Coast? Germany? Realistically, I should stay on the West Coast. Of America. As much as I loved Germany and Eastern Europe, I really can't see myself living there in the real world. Not now, at least. So Southern California is starting to look really good. Or the Northwest. I could live in Seattle or that area LA would be great. Lots of work down there.
Now to make that a reality Time to get to work.
