I am a certified Veterinary assistant. I took some courses a few years back and did an externship. I have been a dog groomer since 2003. When I graduated the vet assist.courses I just kept my focus on grooming. I was a bit nervous to go out and work in an animal hospital. Grooming is really all I have done in my life. Now, I really feel the urge to go out and apply to some hospitals.I am nervous still! I just feel as though I have alot to offer as far as care and compassion. I am a great multi tasker I just am worried about starting something new. Do I sound like an idiot? Maybe I've been an idiot all these years and I'm finally coming around.
I'm intimidated- that's what it is...I think.

Maybe if you keep grooming but volunteer at a shelter or something it will make working at an animal hospital a little less intimidating?
I volunteered at a shelter for a while. I didn't have much contact with the animals though. I sewed bandanas for the doggies and beds for the kitties.
Doing things for animals feels so much more fulfilling to me than doing crap with people.
