So, I know it's a week late, but I'm really happy that the health care bill has been signed into law. It's lacking in many respects the provisions I'd like to see, but it's a step. For me, it's an important step as it helps protect my family. Given my cancer diagnosis, I would be denied coverage on the open market. Thankfully, I have great coverage through my employer. However, as we all know, employment is seldom permanent. The fact that I'll be able to obtain coverage on the open market at a reasonable rate, should the need arise, provides much more security for my family.
I can't stand the thought that, under the old system, my wife and daughter would likely be bankrupted if my cancer were to come back and I lost my coverage because I was too sick to work.
This issue quickly turned from philosophical to practical for me.

First off, I hope you have a full and speedy recovery, and then you get a redhead.
Second, Fuck yeah let's have some health reform. We can bail out some sick banks, how about some sick people.
Also, you need to stop apologizing for the man. That dude already gets all the chicks.
Have a good night.

Yeah, that dude does get all of the chicks. Bastard.
Thanks for the well wishes.
Enjoy the sun we're supposed to see this weekend (though I'm still waiting for it).
