Okay, definitely time for a long overdue update! I've been meaning to do it for a while, but it seems like things just won't slow down long enough for me to do it!
When I left off I was just getting ready to leave for vacation. Well I picked up a bug from Connor (yay daycare germs) and felt like crap up until we left. We went to Rocky Horror and had soooo much fun. If you ever get the chance to go see a live showing, do it! Don't worry about dressing up or the rituals, just GO! I ended up losing my voice that night too.
Then on we went to SC to spend the 4th with the family. It was incredibly relaxing, and I finally got to meet all of Kerry's buddies! We had a great time.
His sister and I are really close now. And I must say I taught her quite a bit about bargain shopping. She'll never pay full price for Vans again.
I also managed to flash one boob at the entire neighborhood the night of the 4th. It was an accident and really funny after the fact, but kind of weird when it happened. (My dress strap broke and there it was.
) All in all it was great though.
Then we came home and I went to get my chest piece touched up. When I first got the tattoo my bra strap caught on one of the scabs and ripped off a large chunk and took the ink with it. So obviously I wanted to get it fixed before I did a set. I drove 4 hours total to make sure that the person touching it up was the one who actually did the tattoo. When I got there he was working on someone else so I was happy to wait. 45 minutes later he sends someone else to me telling me that he's going to touch it up instead. I was a little leery but I figured Jason would make sure he had everything he was supposed to before hand so that it would work out. I even asked if he had all the right colors, because I love the way my tattoo looks and I didn't want anything messed up. He was sure. So I laid back and let him do his job. When we got done, the bird looked new but not bad. It meshed well with the rest of the tattoo. But the flower looked off. When I said something he told me not to worry that it would blend when it peeled. Well it's been two weeks and it still looks like this:
I cannot say that I'm pleased. So I emailed Jason and told him what happened and asked him if we could fix it. He said we could. So I asked him how long I should wait before we do. And he tells me that he doesn't know and that I shouldn't have waited so long to get it touched up in the first place.
Ummm. Excuse me? I've been trying to chase him down for a while now just to get it touched up. He's the one who sent me to a different person and now he wants to make it sound like it's my fault that the other guy screwed up??? This isn't the first time he's done something like this. And I'm done with it. I'm going to get him to fix it because despite his failings he knows his shit (and to me it's just bad form to go to anyone else for a touch up) and then I'm done. I will take my business to people who won't jerk me around. Whew! End rant.
We left Cassie with the neighbors while we were on vacation. When we got back we noticed that she had a bald spot on her butt. I was concerned that it had to do with her allergies, so we took her to the vet. Nope, not allergies. Demodectic mange. Fun stuff. Luckily for us, not contagious. Unluckily for us, she needs up to 8 treatments that are $35 a pop. And she's getting spayed this week. And we have the monthly allergy shot coming up. But she is in high spirits and doing fine. Just a little itchier than usual.
Also took Connor to see the new Madagascar and Ice Age movies. I always worry with sequels that they just aren't going to be as good, but I've got to hand it to the writers, these movies just get better and better. We had a blast. I can't wait for Rise of the Guardians to come out!
And now we're trying to figure out what we're going to do, job and home wise. Kerry's last paid day in the Air Force is September 29th. After that we have no idea what's coming. We've both applied for stuff all over the country but until we hear something back, there's not a lot we can do. I'm scared, but at the same time I'm excited. I'm ready for a change. Hopefully this will all work out for the best.

I'm happy/sad about summer arriving early this year. I love summers, or at least I used to love them a bit more before I moved to Africa, but it just gets too hot here. The part of the country where I live is sub-tropical, so it gets crazy humid + hot. Need to grow some gills before it's too late.

my dad got it Mexico somewhere. he is a big shot architect and does a lot of traveling. I can't keep track of his comings and goings.
