Hello my darlings!
I've had some pretty awesome times since the last time I blogged. Went to a Goodwill store with my best friend the Thursday before she left and found some super awesome stuff! These were my best find that day:
Even though I know the last thing I need are shoes these were just way too cute to pass up!
We went out dancing Friday night, just us girls. Being the DD really sucks when everyone else is getting wasted, but I still managed to have a pretty good time. The band was this extremely terrible 80's cover band. They tried to look like a hair band, but it's really disappointing when you realize that 3 out of 4 of the band members were wearing wigs.
And the lead singer was wearing honest to god tights, with strategically placed handkerchiefs. It was absolutely hilarious. I couldn't stop giggling.
Then we went and watched some friends play beer pong. (Another activity that is more fun when you're plastered.) So we didn't get home till sun rise.
I did have a really good time.
I got to drive my bestie to the airport on Sunday morning. I was so sad that she was leaving, but she'll be back in a week. She was freaking out. She doesn't fly much and hates it so I had to keep her calm. I wanted to go with her, but unfortunately the Navy wouldn't pay for me too. Lol.
It was totally cool because I got to spend the beginning of the week in Jacksonville with my buddy Craig hanging out on the beach! It was awesome because the hotel was literally a 2 minute walk from the beach. We ended up eating at this little Italian place right down the road from the hotel. I swear that was the best manicotti I've ever had.
Went to the Goodwill there the next day. (Yes I know I'm addicted. At least it's cheap.
) Found many great things, but the best was this super cute white dress that goes perfectly with the shoes I bought!
I was so excited! With them on together I look a little like Lucy (without the cute red hair) but it's absolutely adorable! I seriously want to wear this in a set one day.
That night we decided to drive to Fernandina because Craig insisted that I have this alcoholic banana split that would change my life. And we had nothing better to do. Lol. We followed the GPS to Mayport to take the ferry over. Wouldn't you know it, we get there and the ferry left for the last time 15 minutes before. So we back track half an hour back to where we were to go over land. After driving for an hour (which only should've taken 30 minutes) we get there to find out they closed 10 minutes before we got there!
One of the guys outside recommends that we go to the fudge shop in the historic district (wonderful candy there
) to get ice cream. We go that way and find out that they closed 5 minutes before we got there!
It was insane! So we drove back and went walking on the beach.
It was absolutely beautiful! The moon was full and clouds were drifting by. It was amazing. We must have walked 2 miles before we turned around. We found several dead crabs and I'm pretty sure I stepped on a fish, but it was great. We also found a live crab who wasn't too happy to have a light shined in his face.
Tiny picture!
I walked down to this little boutique the next day and found the perfect necklace to go with my dress!
I have to do some tweaking, but when I'm done it will be absolutely perfect.
Then I came home. Which was nice. Connor didn't let me out of his sight for about 24 hours. It was wonderful just being loved on.
And he decided to be super independent while I was gone. James told me that Sunday he got up, switched out his diaper for underwear, got himself a pop tart, and put in a movie. Didn't even bother to wake James up.
He impresses me more and more everyday with how big he's getting. I don't know where my baby went. I'm happy and sad all at the same time.
He has also decided that he is a super hero. He's a mix between Wolverine, Spiderman, and all 4 Ninja Turtles. It make for very interesting and amusing watching. He bruised his mouth because he jumped off of his recliner and hit the entertainment center. After I made sure he was okay, I had to laugh at the mental image of Spiderman going splat against a wall, because that's exactly what it looked like.
Went to the doctor yesterday for a physical. I think I made a friend.
She was the coolest doctor ever! She adored my tattoos. It was a great feeling when she stops in the middle of my physical to admire my tattoos.
The funniest part to me was that she noticed my tiny little music notes on my foot first. I have this giant chest piece (which was visible) and she noticed the tiny one first.
I love people who pay attention to detail. I also found out I have allergies. You would think after 23 years some doctor would have told me.
Luckily they aren't incapacitating. It does explain this 3 week cold though.
Then today this guy I used to talk to (before his wife decided that I was screwing him....NOT
) decided to get back in touch with me despite the fact that she told him that he couldn't talk to me anymore. That was 8 months ago and he decides to talk to me now. I felt bad about it, but I told him that he should honor her wishes because I don't want to deal with the drama when she finds out that he went behind her back. I've been there and done that. I'm not doing it again. I want to be his friend, but I have enough drama without his too.
Isn't it funny the way life is sometimes? For a long time nothing happens then a lot of things happen at once.
I would've posted more pictures in this blog but unfortunately Connor broke my camera. Here are a few random ones though:
I was experimenting with pigtails.
My buddy Kylar, sweetest baby in the world
And one of the cutest music videos in the world
