So, what were you doing two years ago today?
I was close to dying on a surgery table after smashing the majority of my bones in my lower body, not my best day but i kicked ass and am still here, yay for me!!
So to mark this special date (i was gonna call it cripple day) i was going to go heli-skiing but never got around to sorting it out, so i just went back upto sunshine village again, which was amzing today. at the top you can see for miles and miles, nothing but mountain peaks, it is always great when i get back in the mountains these days and the sun was awesome, goggle-tan-tastic!
My camera is too big to take up with me and a royal pain in the ass to try and use whilst balencing on one ski, so i took a few pics with my camera, but now cant get the stupid thing to send them to my laptop
So i thought id put some up from the closing day party atkimberley a couple weeks ago.
They has a pretty lame band playing, but it was fun, you cant see the drummer who was dressed as evil kenevel. ?
Top of the main slope, cheesey pic i know but my goggles look cool in it, haha!
Ok this next one need some explanation, when a ski slope closes at the end of the season, obviously they have a party, they aslo normally do stupid stuff like make dummies on skis and send them down the hill, over a jump to see how far they can fly before smashing onto the carpark (real dummies, not stupid people!
they also have a thing that is normally called the splash pool, they dig a pond at the bottom of the slope and fill it with water, then everyone tries to ski over the water.
So, cos im an idiot i decided that i was gonna give it a go over the pond, which sounds pretty cool, but as you can see from the pics of me skiing, im basically strapped into a lump of metal, so if i wiped out, id be on my side, under water and not able to get out, not good i think youll agree!
but i thought fuck it!
im not joking, i actually went down and over the jump onto the pond with a length of hosepipe to use as a snorkel until people decided to stop laughing and get me out if i didnt make it!
so anyway, i made it, kinda, i was an my race ski (short so not much surface area) and the ski seat is fucking heavy that i sunk, but i didnt fall over and the water was only up to my chest, woohoo!!
This is me when i got out, one word, COLD!!
was a bloody good laugh and i was great! (name that film)
i dont normally ski in a tshirt and trainers, just so you know, heres proof.
in completley unrelated matters, summer is coming and its goona be awesome, mainly because i can throw myself off mountains again
this is my view as i get up each morning
Its so awesome being here, you know when everything just looks amazing and even cool, even the crappy things that seem shit at home, the trains here are like over a mile long, and they always amaze me, especially going through this landscape, its awesome, seriously, get yourself to the rockies!
trains are very shy and dont like to be photographed, plus i dont like to photograph trains because it makes you strange, but i managed to get this pic, just for you, sssh dont tell!
