Some of you know, I like to post patriotic blogs around patriotic holidays. Memorial day was skipped this year due to Star Wars. But we are back on track for July 4th.
Just discovered that the last American draftee will retire from the U.S. Army soon. Command Sgt. Major Jeffrey J. Mellinger was drafted in 1972. I would like to point out he did try to enlist in both the U.S.M.C. and the U.S. Army prior to his draft.

He has done about everything in the army. List.
He is lucky to be alive. He has been in close proximity to 27 IED explosions in Iraq.
Thank you Sergeant Major. And thank you to all of those who fight for freedom.
My 4th of July:

Putting away the flag at Mom's.

That rocket is one of the loudest "booms" you can legally buy.

I wonder how he feels about his experiences.
