What a day.
Worked from open to close at the mall. Not super long just 6 hours. It was BUSY for a minute there though.
After work I went over to Mom's. Got her a fire pit yesterday. She had wanted one since we enjoyed the one at my Aunts during Christmas. Its cold here tonight. So I walk in and say "sure is cold out, how about a fire?"
I LOVED it. Campfires are so peaceful. The air was damp an cold. The fire was great.
One problem though. Mom had come out to the fire without shoes or a jacket. So she goes back inside to get them. Walks right into the closed sliding glass door. She cried out in pain. Staggered around. I ran into the patio to help her. Then into the hous to grab her a paper towel for the blood. Gave her that, then back into the house for an ice pack to keep the swelling down. She decided nothing was broken. But the cry of pain had scared me.
Back to the fire. We sat and chatted and enjoyed the night. Really bright moon. Chilly breeze. Warm fire. It was great.
At one point Mom mentions my Boyscout skills on the fire. I mentioned that I used my firebuilding skills and my first aid skills. She laughed.
On the way home I got PANCAKES and bacon at Whataburger. Mmmmmm.
Day off tomorrow. Sleep.
