I just returned from watching Hotel Rwanda. It was OK, but not especially informative - essentially an African Schindler's List.
The book Shake Hands With The Devil was a much better account.

Firstly, Poland was only one country Stalin took over. Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Albania, and half of Germany.
I find it hard to believe FDR would agree to let a psycho nut like that have anything let alone Poland or any of these others. If he did, that is a horrendous mistake on his part. And Truman was right to oppose it. It started the Cold War, fine, sometimes you can't avoid such things. And it did take two to tango, after all.
Truman wasn't perfect i know, but he hardly deserves to be listed among the worst. He did a lot more than most of the presidents we have had, especially more than the last four or five put together.
There. Said my piece.
But you're wrong!
