You always hear famous chefs say that food is best when it's simple and unaffected. I made this for dinner. It was so quick and simple but one of the best things I ever made and ate.
It's rustic and crusty Italian bread, blackened tomatoes, basil, ricotta, crushed garlic, olive oil, white vinegar, salt and pepper.
I charred the tomatoes in a pan. Then I oiled the bread, liberally rubbed garlic on it and put it in the pan face down with the tomatoes. When finished in the pan, I spread the bread with rich ricotta, sprinkled fresh basil, scooped on the tomatoes, spritzed with sweet white vinegar and finished with salt and pepper.
