As promised, my first installment of photos from time spent abroad in 2003. Much of my recreational travel had something to do with the beautiful Vincent van Gogh. While I found the museum dedicated to him in Amsterdam to be pathetically lacking and uninspired, I thoroughly enjoyed the off-season visit to his last home, Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris. A quaint, friendly little town... the place he...

I'd love to do a set with my glasses, but I have no idea where I'd be "welcome" to post them. It's frowned upon to get attention in SG Hopefuls, and I'm not plus-sized enough for PSW.

Sometimes I get immense pleasure out of being completely sadistic. Don't get me wrong - it's not that I enjoy giving others pain... it just makes me feel like a better person when I exercise my powers to their full extent.

For instance: as I pulled into the driveway today after work, the DJ was putting on his big voice to announce some "undiscovered artist"...

oh my GOSH lady. kick boxing is awesome. i looked at my butt in the mirror this morning and it was UP. perky, if you will wonderful. i would most definitely take tango lessons if they were available to me, that sounds like so much fun! and dancers have the most awesome bodies, i'm kind of jealous.

my tatt isn't finished yet, but it will be soon, so i'm holding out to take pics. i really want my set to be done but i am just too much of a perfectionist, so i am holding out for that too....

speaking of pics your new one is lovely!

The comment you just left me is one of the nicest I've ever had - thank you so much!
I absolutely hated the hair when I had it cut - I knew what I wanted and the woman cut it totally differently and I was gutted - it's grown several inches now and is a total mess, but I now like it lots biggrin
I love the photos in this journal, very beautiful.
dylan:
I'm up because I got back from work really late (I work in a club) and then decided to check my email - saw my set was up and have been replying to comments since! I really should head to bed soon, but I'm getting hungry so I might just get breakfast instead.
I love the colour of my hair, but it was that colour before I cut it all off anyway. Turquoise is my favourite colour of the moment. I took a shedload of pictures in to the hairdresser and explained exactly how I wanted it and she still cut it almost exactly the opposite of what I wanted!

Somewhere in northern Indiana, you can outrun radio stations and city lights. And if you take the right back roads, you can find little diamonds tucked into the folds of night. Since there is no soap left in my soapbox at the moment, I decided to post a few old poem fragments. They're hidden, so you decide...

There is no stillness

they didn't make much sence - then i read your journal again and realised you said INDIANA - not india (i'm a bit dim) - then they were good!

still not given the mojave 3 a proper go yet - got loads of real CDs lately and trying to absorb them

I admit, I'm still learning to read poetry. I'm a book junkie - I can read anything with a first-person perspective, but in H.S. english I'd always just glance at assigned poetry before class...

I finally picked up Bukowski's poetry after reading his prose for years. Then I discovered Paul Repps "Telegrams"? and Japanese Zen naturalist works...

I've found that as I write bits and pieces of poetry, I appreciate other people's more. The second piece sorta mixes humor with self-loathing, which works infinitely better than simply the latter. The first is a little nebulous, but has this beautiful big/little images time/space:
"stall the earth
on its self-digesting path.

Atoms fall to fragments,"

My favorite is the last, though. It really gets me. It's almost all image, and yet there's a net of references that arise from within the visceral...

Its mine. Well, it came from somewheres deep inside me own twisted little mind that is. Kinda weird at times to claim something you've written, but have no idea from where exactly it came. surreal Thoughts are strange, and worlds are even stranger. Then to make up both... well, at least it makes the voices leave me alone. ooo aaa

I used to love the dark as well. Wanted nothing but candle light for years. But something here lately has changed. All the sudden, i don't mind light in the house at all. Even had an electrician come over to install all kinds of recessed lighting in the ceilings. biggrin Wow, what a difference light has made.

Didn't mean to evesdrop, but you don't like penises huh...? Hmmmm.... can't says i blame ya. Didn't like my own for years. Seemed to always be gettin in the way of things and such. But now, i like him just fine. But still, it always amazes me how he can do such violent seeming things to the ladies, and still... they swear to god they love him.

surreal skull surreal

Very strange indeed.

Hey dude, Thanks for the foot tat shot. I just couldn't see it in the photo in your pics.

We don't look down on Newfoundlanders at all, but they are the topic of many jokes for some reason. I suppose it's like the poor bastards from Kentucky.

I live in New Brunswick which is part of the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI). Newfoundland is like our cousin. We're all looked down on by the rest of Canada. It's like we don't exist. We're considered a social and economical leech. I dunno, I've got a job and pay my taxes.

You'd better change the lightbulb. Too many candles can fuck up your lungs. Do you or the framer smoke?

Nice dog. Here's mine...

Blue heeler and Rotty mix with a blue eye eh? You're one interesting lady.

I've never seen Clinton live, but I appreciate his place in music history. One that same note, I did spend a night drinking with Robert Plant. That was a lifetime ago. Nice guy.

I'm glad you liked the jokes. I've heard the one about the fly in the beer except that our version ends with the Newfie pulling the fly out of his beer and smacking it on the back saying..."Spit it out damnit! Spit it out!"

PS. Hey, take a better picture of the tat on your foot and send it through would ya?
aspasia:
Yeah, it did. Thanks for asking.

I love the shot of the ice!

I had a dream last night. I was drowning in dark swirling waters. There was a light on the dock above me, but i knew i hadn't enough air left to make it to the surface. So i closed my eyes, and decided to just go to sleep in hopes of floating to the surface. But the minute i fell asleep in my dream, i awoke covered in sweat within my bed, and screaming.

WOW!!!!! biggrin Who needs movies?

The Constant Yearning

"We are like lutes once held by God. Being away from his warm body fully explains the constant yearning." - Hafiz

This is my philosophy: "God" is actually the Universe of which we are a part for all of Time, including our minute human lives. Ironically, it is only when we are briefly human that we think we are special, apart from...
