Hiya, didn't even see this was put up a while ago, I was away from the computer for a few days, and things move so fast on this place.
Short hair huh? Look forward to seeing how it looks.
How's things going? Looks like it's going to be nice weather for the easter weekend, yay! A whole 4 days off, can't believe it. Really need it, seem to be constantly tired at the moment.

art student? cool, I have not had the chance to go to the TATE or the National yet! Maybe you can do me a tour around them one day wink I studied some art at high school and uni....mainly british art in uni though. It was quite interesting I have to say. biggrin

I have to go to central london one of these days to a place called Fresh and Wild - Whole Foods Market in Soho. Also there is a couple of small veggie places with vegan cakes there....there are many thai vegan "all you can eat" buffet places around as well...

Cutty Sark is in Greenwich, its a cool place. If you take DLR there is a stop called Cutty Sark - Maritime Greenwich where the Maritime Museum is placed. It also has a cool market some days....think you'd like it. smile

Oh my goodness! i've been so busy the past few days! i've got so much work to do before the end of april and then there was the uni orchestra concert last night (seriously, my reeds are driving me crazy. i swear it's a conspiracy to drive me to suicide whatever ) and then stupid housing stuff! ugh. right, here comes a little rant-

so, my...

i went to a cello/piano concert with a friend tonight. oh my goodness it was so good! our uni orchestra is small and a little bit pathetic and none of our cellos are very good so sometimes i start to forget how much a love cellos when they're played well. and this one was played _very_ well. lots of angsty beautiful music. i wish i...

How did the bagel hold up? and how do brit bagels hold up to US counterparts?
I am eating a pancake with reduced stawberries.
akamces:
I reduce the stawberries in a pan, sort of like warm fresh strawberry reduction topping for pancakes and waffles.

I have a good tea tip for you, hot rolling water over fresh mint leaves. try it. you'll never be the same again.

80s cartoons are the best. especially when you're a bit sad. who could be unhappy while watching rainbow brite? thank goodness for youtube smile "i have too much momentum!" ah, those were the days. cartoons started going really strange after the 80s. now for the most part they're just kind of irritating frown although, having said that i think i'll work on downloading some more zim before...

i can't believe it's only 9:30. it seems like it's at least 12. more like 2am. i keep thinking i should turn my music down so i don't wake up my roomate and then realizing she won't be asleep yet. i might actually get a properly early night tonight (although whenever i say that i seem to stay up til 4am). i'm really tired, and...

I've decided that i'm not a fan of pomo art critics. some of them are all right. i've recently read some essays by Lucy Lippard out of The Pink Glass Swan that are perfectly comprehensible and interesting, but then I followed it up with the introduction in Nick Kaye's Site Specific Art which used such rediculously inaccesible language and went on and on about theories...

Went out to Synthetic Culture the other night, which is pretty impressive since i pretty much never leave the house whatever had a really good time though. maybe i haven't been fond of going to clubs in the past because i've been going to the wrong kind of clubs with the wrong kind of people. i had the best time ever just looking at all the...

cold is bad but party is fun biggrin

You know i always think that to have fun what matters is not where you go but the people you are with.
Its cool that you get along with future housmates, its actuallly a prime thing.

When i lived in London i would party all the time ( and be poor haha), theres so much diversity in that city and i love the mood : you sure gotta find the places that are good for you. My favourite thing though is to go to Trafalgar square at four a.m. , pissed and enjoying ! confused

well, i got my package today! yay! i had just called DHL again and left them a whiney message complaining about how they hadn't redelivered my package when one of my housemates knocked on my door and presented me with said package (then i felt kind of bad for calling DHL again). so yay, i have my new phone. it is pink and girly, which...

Thanks for commenting on my Get Cutie set smile
I'm hoping it won't be long til you're accepted, the set you posted in the hopefuls group was lovely - you looked beautiful, and the reasons it could have been rejected were all easily fixable and nothing to do with you or how you looked.

I seriously want to throttle whoever runs DHL. Why, oh _WHY_ is there no customer service? that stupid little answering machine thing does _not_ count and as far as i can see is completely useless. they tried to deliver a package to me last week and no one was here to sign for it, so they had to take it back with them and leave...

Funny ... I just got off the phone with UPS about a Valentine's Package I sent my mum that's nowhere to be found!

They're ALL just complete crap.

Well ... Happy happy to you!

kiss
dirtydoctor:
I sympathise with ya, I have constant battles with the postal service here in London! I get sent records most days because of my job, they don't fit through the letterbox, but instead of the postman ringing the bell and waiting, he just puts a card through my letter box and disappears! As a result I spend half my week queing up at some ghetto post depot to collect my mail. I can't even tell you how many times I've chased him down the road insisting he rings the bell, but its a long way beyond a joke. Then on top of that, often when I've queued up to collect my mail, I'm just told it's gone missing! Unbelievable! mad

Anywayz, rant over! Hope you're well, and happy valentines day! kiss

Let's go for a cup of tea together and curse the package delivery industry sometime! biggrin

so, i was brave and just posted my rejected set to the Hopefuls group. really looking foreward to constructive critisism, but i have to admit that offering myself to be picked apart is kind of scary eeek

now i should probably stop messing around on SG and actually get some work done, lol. this site is so distracting!

It's funny how I'm perfectly willing to give a few pounds to the old man who stopped me on the street today saying he was trying to get enough money to buy some bread and butter for his dinner, but search the shelves for all the bargains at tesco's and am a complete cheap skate when it comes to my own dinner. but i guess...

Hi,
came accross your profile on the SG newbies board and thought as a fellow resident of London it would be rude of me not to say hello, so "Hello"!

Somtimes I too suffer from putting others need before my own, but the feeling you get from it can't compare to money.

I hope your studies go well, it must be hard studying in a new environment, I hope LONDON treats you well!

How are you finding it?

Lastly, may I just say that you looked awesome in your rejected set, were their reasons for refusal valid and constructive?

When are you going to try again?

Well till we speak, have a great day

smile smile smile

so, back in london. i've been so busy lately! and classes start up again tomorrow. i'm sleep deprived and still a little jet lagged and screwed up. but i did go on a tesco's adventure with the housemates today, so at least i have some food. and lots of tea! i had some tesco's organic black tea from before i went away but today i...
