In an update to my last post, I am officially moving to Manchester. Went to see some houses on Wednesday with my two future housemates (both comedians don't you know) and we're going in for one of them. We move in on 1st December.
If you know Manchester, it's kind of between Fallowfield and Ladybarn. So close enough to enjoy the perks of Fallowfield (Buses, takeaways, the new lady, and of course XS on Tuesdays), and far enough away to enjoy being in a quiet suburby bit where lots of families live. The landlord used to live in the house and even said to us "We had a few parties here and nobody ever complained".
NICE.
I'm off to Leeds(ish) to perform stand-up tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. Taking one of my housemates too. He'll be headlining the gig and I'm told that there's 20 in it for me. That may sound like a shit deal, but when you've travelled from Preston to Plymouth and done a gig for free, ripped the arse out of it, and not even got a thank you from the promoter, twenty squids for a gig an hour away is welcome relief.
I feel like I'm hitting my stride comedy-wise now and am starting to find my voice. It means that writing comes easier because you know who you're writing for etc. I'm going to spend today working on my set, tightening it up and all that jazz before heading off to rip the shit out of this gig. Hooray!
