I went out into town last night despite being ill. I did it because I've not been out and not seen my friends in 3 weeks (you'll notice I've been on SG for that amount of time too
).
We started off in my house playing video games. My friend Chris (who I've not seen in about 2 weeks and has a suspected broken skull from being attacked in work this week) arrived and didn't even say "hello". Instead he chose the opening gambit: "Got any bacon?".
I love him.
So he cooked bacon and we eventually went out.
I had a really good time despite feeling like crap. The wife was out too and I eventually saw her at around 10.30pm. We had a quick chat and decided to meet up on Sunday to sort out some stuff. That was the last I really saw of her.
I went home early (midnight, is that early?) because I was feeling rough, rubbed a load of Vicks on my chest and went to bed.
In the weeks leading up to the breakup of our marriage, I'd gotten into the habit of sleeping with my phone switched on - something I've never done because I like my sleep! I was doing it because the wife was out with old friends and catching up on old times with them. My phone was on in case anything happened and she needed me for anything.
At 5.30 this morning I got a text from her.

I've broken my arm booo. Xxx
Kick in protective mode.
I asked her what happened and who was with her and everything that I would've asked had we still been together.
In fact, as I was typing that last paragraph I got another text from her saying that it was her wrist and not her arm. I gave her a quick call to see what happened.
She was drunk, in heels, walking on a wall when she fell backwards.
That's quite typical of her if I'm honest. She has a very clumsy, unaware side, and this is the proof.
I don't know how to feel really. Any suggestions?!
Glad you had a good night anyway, yey for going out on the town when you're feeling crap, and waking up the next morning feeling crapper, with added hangover, but mentally you feel damm good. I love those evenings, they're life-affirming. And they make you love your friends.
Pip pip. x
