Well, my current boy (who really has been around long enough to have a name, but I'll get around to that later) decided Christmas Eve seemed like a jolly good time to have jaw surgery. So, I pulled my ass out of bed at the dark hour of 6am and waited around with his family in order to receive, after 4 hours, an infinitely quieter and more disoriented boy. Lovely. 6 weeks, they say, until his jaw isn't wired shut.
How do you stand not being able to make conversation with the best conversationalist - and really, one of only a few good friends - in your life for a month and a half?
And then we have the issues of schools, potentially living hours apart soon, and transfering to potentially totally different colleges. But I suppose I walk slowly and step off the path if necessary.
In other news: What the fuck is up with 60 degree weather on Christmas Eve? It's ridiculous, absurd, and awful. Some weather deity ought to be struck from his post for neglecting his job. Wretched weather, and it spoils any sense of holiday spirit. Not "Christmas music in the malls before thanksgiving in order to boost sales" holiday spirit - but real tradition, smells, and memories. I suppose I cope and hope for Colorado to approach faster.
What does everyone think of Ari's Escher set? As a respectful Escher fan, even if not a connoisseur, I have to wonder...what the point was? I realize she's wearing black and white and we have a staircase theme, and I respect the reference. And I suppose, yes, this is nude photography and not conceptual art. But I would liked a bit more linkage.
Did you notice the poem on the set description? It would seem that this poem is unfindable online, which makes me wonder if she wrote it herself.
Don't get me wrong, though. I think she's quite hot and the set is an interesting concept and interestingly done.
That's it for the night, folks. See you soon (that is, when the 'holiday season' abates and the boy decides...well, decides to not occupy so much of my time and thoughts).
