I was bored and was poking around my old haunt - AFF - this afternoon, and ran across my ex-boyfriend. AFF seem to think that we are 100 percent compatible, which just says to me that the rating system is a bit off. If you include unimaginative, emotionally distant and without personality to the negative criteria for a partner, then perhaps more reasonable results would...

For my first time on in more than a year, I might as well enumerate the radical changes in my life before anything else:
- At last calculation, I've seen more television than anyone should ever have time for.
- I committed to spending a year in Hong Kong, made it 2 months and then thanked god/my parents and school that I could leave and...

Hey, it's the internet. Occasionally your audience is guys who looked at the "Members" page and saw your photos post and then come across a great, personal, honest post like this. I'm usually a little embarrassed to post anything online, even on my facebook, which is theoretically full of my friends who are interested in what I'm doing. It's really courageous of you to quit drinking, or even try to take control of it. And to verge into the scary world of pizza. Good luck.
Summer, summer. Such an awful time of year. I've been holed up inside trying to pretend that the weather outside wasn't so hostile. School, travel, lots of reading and walking and video games all provided whatever sense of escape that I needed, and so here I am, attempting to come out of my shell and exist once more.
By far the best and most memorable...

Hey hey! Thanks for the add Sorry to hear that summer isn't the best time of year for you, but still seems decent none-the-less. And hey, who can complain about foursomes?
kentclark:
That's the tricky thing about DC; it lures you in with beautiful spring days, then smacks you with the hot soggy washcloth that is August. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself regardless. Where'd you eat?
It's nice and cool here now, though--you should come back!

You look fine to me! Still love the arm tattoo by the way.
For the two of you, then, and whomever else is interested - here's a poem that developed over the course of the past few months and is, if I might say so, not bad. As much as I dislike free verse as a general rule, this works well in an open form. Alas.
And autobiographical? Ah, well. So scold me.

Beautiful and sad.
cactusgeeves:
Well done! It was sad, but I've read it several times now, just replaying the scene over and over.
After an extended absence for exams and such, I am back to actually interacting with this site (instead of using it almost exclusively for peeping at the new sets when I have a spare minute). It would seem that I will be spending the Fall semester (and forward) in Charleston, SC. College of Charleston has graciously thrown open their doors, and I believe I will...

Welcome back!
I have a friend who will be leaving at the end of the summer, either to grad school or a job in Florida, and we understand how hard it can be to keep relationships. The advice I gave her was this: As long as an effort is made, you will always have them. A simple email, maybe phone call, and trip now and then will keep you in that person's life. Of course, both sides will have to put forth some effort, but if it is important, then it can happen. Maybe not the greatest advice in the world, but I do believe it is possible.
On another note, I'd also like to read anything you write, too.

I'm working on my problems this week, it seems. And though they are numerous, there are few that are more glaring lately than most.
I am compulsively avoidant. I will email someone for two weeks, then feel embarassed or bored and just drop them. No call or warning, and no response when they complain. I imagine that everyone thinks that I dislike them or think...
