why is that parties in the hills sound so appealing, and yet they just remind me of high school. and really, people, can't we come up with something more original than an eighties theme? seriously.
on the plus side, i got closer to the hollywood sign than i ever have been, since me and my brother got chased off by helicopters and guard dogs when we attempted for a full scale assault on the landmark.
on a historical note, not the original sign, as you may know, dear nobody. the real sign began to disintegrate in the seventies as it was made of canvas and telephone poles and not made to last. alice cooper spearheaded the renovations by sponsoring, of course, the letter H. someday i hope to get close enough to trigger the motion sensing warning recordings.
i really hate living in a world with so many fences.
on another positive note, i have 8 years and 4 days sober and 15 months and 4 days nicotine free. probably another reason party in the hills seems so boring.
and finally, notice the abundance of quality shows in the weekly for the month of oct..wait no, can't resist, rocktober.
although i missed the new pornographers last night. sad.
but coming soon...my morning jacket, the bouncing souls, bauhaus (i can't resist, on the 30th, awesome) calexico with iron and wine, the like, and 'course gotta go see the sg ladies at the ray.
hope springs eternal. if i can ever get the fucking part imported from italy, i might just rock out and get the scoot back this month.

on the other side of the hollwood sign is the rest of griffith park (largest metropolitan park in the nation), in which today i discovered the abandoned zoo. super neat.
i so love los angeles.
also hiked up to bee rock and discovered in my rock climbing assault why it is called bee rock. never free climbed in a bee swarm before.
