The Sirens Song

Musical notes follow a breeze
drifting across a treacherous sea.
Soft and enticing is the Siren's song,
sweet death encased in beauty.
The sailors of a mighty ship
turn head and do pay heed
To the lilting voices heard on high
and, in doing so, forget their sacred creed.
The ship does turn toward the seduction
and meets a horrid fate
As it makes port upon the rocks
they realize to late
The song of the Siren may be sweet
but she will lead you astray
Heed not the diva of the sea
and life to see another day.
