You know -- your parents are amazing; at least in this case my mother is.

You know how when you're a kid, there are these things that are the coooooooolest thing you've ever ever seen and you always want one? But of course its impractical in particular for a kid so you just kinda file it away under things to do when you have a mid-life crisis.

Well this year my mom remembered the one thing ( aside from making me an astronaut ) that has become the best gift EVER.

My mother remembered how I'd fawn over ads in plane magazines when I was a kid over a particular sort of jacket, a proper calfskin bomber jacket ( lined with sheepskin of course ) -- I'd figure that that petulant whining we were all good at would've just gone right over her head at one point or another, if only to retain her sanity at the time.

But no -- my mom bought me ( with the assistance of my also amazing uncle ) the /very/ coat that I always wanted -- not something close or similiar -- but so dead on exact its spooky.

So my mom got me one of these :



And for remembering that childhood dream and being generally awesome, I'm not really all that worthy -- but my mom rocked my christmas this year
