You don't just have to join the military to loose a lot of the freedoms that civillians in this country have. You can also be married to someone in the military and the same rules apply to you whatever . Thank god my husband plans on getting out when his second term runs out in two years.
On a positive note, we finally have a second...

I'm having a pretty eventful weekend. I usually work on the weekends, so it was nice to have yesterday and today off.
I finally got to attend an SGNC event yesterday in Raleigh! It was a lot of fun and it was nice to meet all the lovely people in the group. Ian came with me and he had fun playing with the dogs and...

I'm glad you made it out! It was great to meet you, and your son is adorable!!!

I didn't realize you were from Fayetteville, I should have talked to you more at the party. I grew up in Hope Mills, myself - only got out in 2001. I'll probably be down there visiting my mother some time in the near future, I'll let you know!

I'm glad you were able to come and hang out, it was great to meet you and your little one (he is such a cutie!). smile Sorry we didn't talk more, Karen and I were feeling oddly spacey that day and neither of us were doing as well as normal. Oh well, next time.

Sorry, I haven't been on that much lately. I've been working 2 jobs and traveling to Wilmington every week to take care of family business.
I finally got my hair cut again and I love it. I couldn't decide if I wanted to dye it red or black, so my stylist colored it a really dark, almost black, red. I have some more horrible quality...

It was great to meet you! Your son is adorable, and his perseverence in making the fire truck noise was downrightly staggering.

The chinchilla is fine. I guess I was a little worried cause I've never owned one before. He couldn't be any happier or healthier. He is one spoiled little rodent.

how could he not be happy being your spoiled little rodent??? biggrin

It's been a while since I've posted anything.
We got a new baby chinchilla yesterday. He's a beige male. I'm not sure how old he is but he's about half or a third of the size of most full grown chinchillas I've seen. We named him Gir after my son's favorite cartoon character.
I'm a little upset because the cage that they suggested we get...

Yay, work!
Back to never getting any sleep. EVER!!!

Okay, so I've been really excited about finally going back to school next fall. Every time I've saved up enough money and am ready to start, something happens to which I have to give up all of that money or I have to do something that takes up so much of my time that it wouldn't...

Good - glad to hear you are doing well. I used to love bartending, but I like sampling the product too much, so I would get a little crazy with the portions the later the evenings got. Customers loved me... Management, not so much.

Stay off of the computer while intoxicated.
Although I am surprized by my lack of spelling errors and use of spoilers considering I don't remember much of anything after 12AM.

I've had a pretty busy week.
I got a call back on a bartending job I applied for. I start training on Tuesday next week. I've actually worked for this chain restaurant at a different location before and I can't say it was an enjoyable experience. At least it's not another waitressing job. I'm still hoping that one of the other places I applied to...

What did you think of 300? Overall, I thought it was one of the better movies I've seen in recent months. Congrats on the job - hope it works out for you. Don't let the experience at the last "similar" place set the tone before you even start. I'll bet it was the people/management that made the last place suck.

I moved away from Austin on a few occasions and swore each time that I would never do it again (of course I'm now in the Houston area - yuck). It really is a kick ass town and has something to offer everyone. The only problem is that it continues to grow exponentially. It is no longer the town that I grew up in. I was going to go back when I was looking for a new job, but after being away for 5 years it had changed so much that it confused me. My wife if pretty tight with her family so I decided I would make her happy and move to her hometown just outside of Houston. We go back enough to see my friends and family and it satisfies my need for an "Austin fix".

I don't know how long it has been since you husband has been to Austin, but if it has been more that a few years, he won't recognize it. The "essence of its being" is still there, you just have to look for it harder - if that makes sense.

What's the latest on the job stuff?

Yessss!!! I'm going to Buenos Aires in September! My dad is getting married and moving there for good. He's sending us to Argentina and paying for our hotel. I can't wait to meet my future step-mom. I've talked to her on the computer via webcam before. I don't have a webcam, my dad has one at his house and I usually talk to her when...

I'm going job-hunting today and all this week. For the past six years I've worked as a cocktail waitress, but I'm kind of getting tired of it. I'll see...
