As hard as it may seem . . . you need to tough it out for a while . . . pretend your former friend is just a stranger you work with . . don't worry or obsess about things you can't change right now . . try to make a plan to find a new job . . . take a deep breath, and just get through one day at a time. Your life will inevitably change . . I know the change probably won't come soon enough . . but come it will. And then, things will be better.

The only way out is through.
I had mine removed when I was nine, because they would constantly swell, and make it hard to breath. So I can't say I really remember what the recovery process was like, being so long ago, and only a kid.
Feel better, and we will look forward to an update.
