That's awesome!
My room mate Rain is obsessed with perma-culture, and her dream is to set it up, and live off the land some day too...
personally I have dreams to do the same, if I can find a little place with land, but not too far from civilization. I would have my friends over constantly for ridiculous bonfire and barn-parties. (cow-milking, and egg findin' too!)
Every summer when I was 11 to 16, my step-dad at the time would take us camping (actually I think it was more like around september, which isn't summer at all!) anyways- we went to this land on an indian reservation in the desert called Lake Simtustus. You can camp right on the edge of the lake fall asleep to the sound of the crickets and the water lapping up against the sand. There's a tree that hangs out over the water you can fish in, and a big rock out in the middle to paddle out to, not to mention wild horses that bed down by your tent at night and hang out on the cliffs all day.
(it's kind of in a gorge, you're surrounded by high cliffs, yet covered in sun all day long.)
I keep dreaming about going back there this year with friends, seriously dressed like a native in as little as possible, and trying as best as I can to live off the land while I'm there...it'll be great if I can go.
