LA's not really the place I'd go back to so often, if it weren't that I love my family so.
Bonsai... damn, you gotta give me some tricks and tips. Mine lasted 2 years, and I think it's finally given up on me. There is a parasite of some sort -- I was fairly sure it was spider mites-- that I've been battling for months now, but i didn't want to overwhelm the poor baby with insecticide. I used mild insect spray and wiped away the small webbing that would form between the needles (juniper bonsai) with my fingers. then i'd rinse it all away with tepid water.
But now I'm at a loss. I did what I could to make him comfortable while I was away, but I fear he'll be dead upon arrival home.
