1999
John F. Kennedy, Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette, and her sister Lauren, died in a plane crash near Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
My mom called me a few minuets age and I wished her a happy birthing day. I was resurching the Apollo launch and I asked her if she was aware of the launch that day. She told me how she went into labor about 4am and didn't have me until about 10pm, so she wasn't thinking about it at the time.
Her best friend at the time was also pregnant and both of their young husbands were at that moment in Vietnam so they had spent that summer together and they both went into labor at the same time (I was 2 weeks late) and both of us boys were born the same day. His name is Lucky Aldrin... so I guess she was more aware of the momentous events of the day.
I had planned on doing a tribute to the Apollo crew today, as they all have been great heros to me, but I have no time for it right now...perhaps I will have time before the 20th.
Thanks for all the well wishing earlier today...I will reply as soon as I get back from my weekend camping trip. Have a wonderful weekend to you all.

Glad you had a good -- though "un-outrageous" -- trip. (Sometimes taking time out for relaxation is an act of rebellion in-and-of itself!)
PS: Have you decided whether or not you'll be going to the Brewer's Fest? I've been trying to entice Biscayne into attending, as well. Sounds as if he might be up for it.
