What a weekend. Saturday we drove up to Vancouver for a car show and
good music. I didn't get any pictures because I forgot my digital
camera.
Sunday I spent the day playing with the boys and and then I
installed a new security screen door on the kithen door so we can leave
the door open at night and get a breeze.
I remember the days, growing up
in a small town, when you felt safe leaving the doors and windows open
at night.
Anyway, about the time I finished installing the new screen, it
was time for a quick dinner with the family and then a long drive back
out to vancouver to hypnogogic's party.
It was a blast. I got to see topless stormy in
the hot tub(some other girls too, but I'm not sure who); adults doing
whippits, rolling around on the floor; ladybelmont demonstrated her hostess
survival skills by opening my bottle of mead with a kitchen knife and an
allen wrench(most impresive use of an allen wrench I've seen in a long
time, possibly since 'nam); biscayne's 50's greaser friends dancing to hypno's hip-hop
mix(that was funny); so many other things I can't possibly list it all. I also had a wonderful long conversation with a special young lady friend of
mine, I hope she remembers most of it.
The big disapointments of the
night were that I never did get a picture with the fantastic miss stormy , (she is pure sex)
and I couldn't play spin the bottle because I was coming down with a
cold and I didn't think anyone would much appreciate my sharing that.
Oh, I also wanted to get stoned with someone, and if I had I definately
would have spent quite a lot of time making out with her. I hate being
sick. Oh well, maybe next time.
So I drove home at about 3am, back to an
empty bed(my girl wasn't feeling well, so she slept sitting up on the
couch) were I laid thinking about the night and what could have been for
about an hour before falling asleep. Only to be awoken at 8am to the
sound of bagpipes practicing around the corner.
Our house is at the
start of the parade route. By the time I got up, most of the space in
front of our house was full of squatters, with their folding chairs and
little dogs and rude children.
One group even had the unbelievable
audacity to start beating back the blackberry bushes that I have around the base of my walnut tree so they could fit
their chairs there, when my girl went to ask them to stop, explaining to
them that I had planted them there because I was wanting to eat them,
the lady started to argue with her, saying that they were only
blackberries, and anyway, wasn't this city property. No bitch, it isn't.
The side walk is common use, but my strip of grass in front of my house
is indeed mine and no you don't have the right to destroy my food crops
on my fucking property. I think I will block the whole area off next
year and invite sg people over to watch with us. That sounds like a lot more fun.
Anyway, we just finished our fireworks in the street and I need to go tuck the boys into bed now. I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July.
And thank you to all of you who said hi earlier today, and especially to all of you who have added me to your friends list.

Well, in the midst of the game, I was having a great time. Ah, I can't even really explain it. I really enjoyed seeing what others were doing though!!
