Have fun at the Big Easy. Last time I was there I'm fairly certain I suffered alcohol poisoning, but seeing as how it was on the tail-end of a military training trip (originally to Hattisburg, but with a convenient stop off to N.O.), I chose to just board the plane and suffer in a feverish sweat while not eating for 48 hours. 
So, word to the wise. Enjoy yourself, but fucking be careful, and try to stick to a couple of clubs--this will reduce the amount of times you get offered some wicked shot by complete strangers. It gets insane there, and you will get carried away. Stick with your friends, carry a lot of beads, and rock out.

I've had some friends say I should fly to Chi-town to check it out, and others who say it's not all that.
Speaking of food, I was driving through some rural coastal town 3-4 hours southwest of my base (middle of fucking nowhere, in fact), and I saw a no-shit souvlaki stand. The owner wasn't there (in fact, nobody Greek was working that day), but they had it going on--music, pictures, etc. Surreal.
