is this really happening? two days, two journal updates. lookout motherfuckers, mr. pants is back in the hizzy fo shizzy. *cough*
i worked the door at cactus lkast night, pretty easy show. i heard the new temper temper record and thought it was pretty good. that band would be tough to record, in a live setting it's almost as if there are five guys playing against each other. props to the recording engineer on the project, it sounds damn cohesive.
i stayed sober because the last two nights (mon & tue) i hit the bottle pretty hard and got slightly out of hand, i guess. monday i downed a bottle of butterscotch schnapps with emily at 90210 and ended up singing along very loudly (and poorly, so i hear) to the beastie boys classic 'paul revere'. tuesday i drank whiskey at my house and ended throwing up blood. it was hella nasty. and all day yesterday i felt great, but i was blowing blood clots out of my nose all day long.
methinks it's time to take a few nights on the wagon.
k2 comes back from vegas this afternoon. she called me at 5am and woke me up last night. we talked for a long time and it was great. i sure do like that girl a lot. i get to pick her up at the airport and i'm very much looking forward to it (sheesh, she's only been gone since monday and i miss the shit outta her!)
here's a cool story from this past month: i rode my bike to the bank to deposit a paycheck, and from there i rode to the value village thrift center. i stopped in at a c-store and bought a v8 juice. i sat on a bench with my arms and legs outstretched, in a very happy stone, and was in a very happy mental state. this older gentleman walked by and said, "you really have it made, don't you?". my response was "yes, yes i do." i related to k2 this story last night, and she thought that if angels exist, this guy must've been one - an unlikely angel in a flannel shirt with the sleeves all rolled up.
