december's here? that just means summer is getting closer. not much, but it's a good start.
things are great. i mean it. busy busy busy lately, yet hanging in there and trying to enjoy the shit out of it.
wednesday was cool. caught some foo-foo drinks at at random w/ monet & some pals. i was a bit disappointed with the bar's atmosphere & strict seating policies, but the fog cutter i sucked down was well worth the $10. then on to the fly bar for some clubbin'-type stuff with courvosier & nba high rollers. i was a fish out of water, but one of those fish that can still breathe on land.
thanksgiving was a blast. being as i have no family in the area, i'm always a bit apprehensive as to where i'm going to spend a holiday. so jen & kelly had me over for a traditional dinner & nap. then out for some drinks at lucky 13. jen & i had a bit of a falling out in august, and now we're back to the way it should be and i'm glad. she is such a great person & having her back in my life is one thing i'm truly thankful for.
then i went to detroit (ypsilanti, actually) for work and stayed in the shittiest hotel i've ever stayed in. the smell was foul, nothing worked, there were scary ho's walking the streets, and one of my co-workers found a crack pipe in his room. totally gross! oh yeah, did i mention the roaches?
i made it back saturday night to hang out with kelly. we hit up mad planet to see her boy jesus' band the response rock out with bosio & some other band i can't remember. met some peeps that might join the band i am trying to start, still looking for an able bodied drummer to hold down the boom-bap end of it, but there's no need to hurry. the show was great, lotsa pretty scenester girls to ogle + many korbel & cokes = happy joey.
and on the way back, kelly & i came upon a streetfight in progress outside of johnny's mexican restaraunt. 5 dudes were kicking the shit out of some guy in the northbound traffic lanes. that was really disturbing. i called the cops to get it broken up, & perhaps to find the unlucky fellow's teeth in the road. real life violence makes my stomach roll over. we ate thanksgiving leftovers and drank beer until we couldn't stand up anymore.
sundays at home for me are infrequent, and i had to make the most of it yesterday. i ate breakfast @ conejito's (huevos rancheros) and enjoyed the shit out of the day. my vision was so crisp and everything i looked at became burned into my brain. then down to the bay street tattoo shop for some new ink. yup. i love it. chevo put the husker du logo on my gee-tar playing arm in turquoise & black. it was fun, and kind of cool getting my 3rd piece from chevo. then i went to show off the ink to my homeboy ryan. we bolted his place for the confines of champions pub on the east side where there is a shuffleboard table. shuffleboard is fun, but like all other bar games (pool, darts) i completely suck at it.
and today i finally washed the stack of dishes that has been bringing me down. it wasn't hard, just unpleasant to imagine doing. i love a clean house and a clean house is what i have now. and i am feeling fine & dandy like chocolate candy.
hope you all are with me there.

I agree real life violence sucks ass. That's one of the reasons I had to get away from home. I can never go out with my best friend cause of some of his friends. There is always a pile of dudes. I think some of those guys are just keeping some of their feelings in the closet.
later man
