ok, so i wrote up this whole update and i screwed it up and it didn't post! grr!!
so i'm going to write about something that happened that mad me kinda upset the other day...
i was driving my brother and i to our night classes last monday night....and there were these two young girls walking up the street..one was maybe 11-13 and the other 7-9. anyhow, upon seeing my car, they both ran and hid behind a nearby parked van...
the older one peeked out from behind the van, and when she deemed my brother and i harmless, (i.e. not kidnappers?) she and the other girl came out from behind the van...but they were like stopped dead in their tracks....
that upsets me...since when can't children enjoy a walk home in nice weather without about being afraid for their survival???
what happened to the warm, carefree days of spring, the lazy days of summer, when little kids can run around the neighborhood, carefree, playing spy and making potions?? - not only your parents, but the whole neighborhood is in on glancing out the window from time to time - coming out to enjoy the weather on their porches...to make sure your safe - just incase...
hell, that's what adults were for at that age!!
i mean, i remember my friends and i hiding behind cars to avoid being kidnapped...but that was at like 8 o'clock at night when it was dark out...not to mention we had a reason: the 'blue and white van'...someone was going around the surrounding neighborhoods in such a vehicle trying to lure children....
then again, i guess children do have a reason now-a-days...the 'blue and white van' could be anybody, in any vehicle, in any neighborhood at any time- that can just take a child...and they will...hell, they'll take grown men and women...this world makes me sick.
