Woohoo! Finally, finally, finally! It's fucking warm out and NICE! It was a little muggy but the breeze kept it nice and chill all day today.
Had work at four, but at five we suddenly had a brownout. We kicked all the customers out of the store because the phones and computers died, and then shortly after, a few employees smelled something that seemed like burning. So the fire department was called and everyone, including Oscar, our Red-Crested Macaw, had to wait outside.
We figured it was probably routine enough, maybe the brownout had caused some wires to short or something. What we ended up with was probably about half of the Ramsey Fire Department, including two fire trucks, outside of our store and a whole bunch of police cars. Any fucking excuse to put their sirens and lights on, I swear.
So yeah, we're all waiting outside for about an hour and a half, just chilling, enjoying the weather. Finally the building is okayed and we go back in. Turns out one of our air-conditioners had blown up on the roof. One of our BRAND NEW AIR CONDITIONERS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD!
Well, at any rate, we started everything back up only to realize the phones still didn't work and that the computers would not accept credit/debit cards. As a result, our sales suffered immensely, which was fine by me because that meant a nice leisurely day.
So yeah, yet another fun, exhilerating experience over at Petco. What an exciting life I lead, huh?
