Ahh, another day gone by. And what a day, too. Drove down to South Amboy, NJ, with my friend Liz today to see a great little band called Even In Blackouts, a very cool female-fronted acoustic band that pulls influences from punk, folk rock and indie, among other things. A tight band to say the least, and their singer Liz is really sweet. I highly recommend checking them out sometime, someway.
The best part of the evening, though, had to have been the opening bands:
Even In Blackouts was staying the night at the boyfriend's house of a friend of mine, both of whom are in a punk band called Faber (and that's a reference to Fahrenheit 451, NOT to Animal House!) and so not only did Faber open acoustically (with an amazing bongo performance by the drummer, I might add) but before they played, one of their friends performed an amazing set on his bagpipes in preparation for his march in the Boston St. Patty's Day Parade coming up. Truly a spectacle I will never forget, and the guys (and girl) from Even In Blackouts are really cool people so I wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors.
Amazing evening. Culminated in Liz and I doing donuts in the Ramapo College parking lot at 2:30am blasting "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo". No kiddees, it just doesn't get any better than that.
And on that note, I'm outta here. Gotta know when to bow out gracefully.
(Oh, and the Soiree is only a day away now!! I gotta finish getting my costume together! This is an opertunity not to be missed!)
Sayonara, see ya tomorra,
Rob
AMUSING QUIP OF THE DAY:
Myself: I'm just killing time until my next class starts in about a half hour or so.
Shelley: Oh, I'm just killing time in general, for the hell of it.
Myself: Ahh, well give it an extra stab in the heart for me, okay?

Can't make it to the soiree, for reasons I will explain in person. I'm so sorry man. Please give my best to everyone there.
