Well we are all still recovering sort of. Everyone is just tired. I have been in bed at 8 a lot latley...but thats okay its kinda nice!
So, Nicholas brought home a paper from school yesterday and it was his gifts of what he wishes for 8 people. I read it and I cried...its amazing how a child can see things we all do but they will say it outloud...here is what he wrote...
To: Nana
Gift of Quitting Smoking
(there is a pic of a no smoking sign here)
To: Aunt Jane
Gift of Memories
(pic of aunt jane thinking of him)
To: The Soldiers
Gift of Coming home saftley
(pic of a flag)
To: Grampa
Gift of Healthy Life
(pic of his grandpa looking very heavy....he has health issues)
To: Grandma
Gift of Better Lungs
(pic of black lungs...she smokes can you tell?)
To: Uncle Sam
Gift of having Patience
(pic of Uncle Sam under the stars witha pissy look...he has ocd and is bipolar and has no patience ever.)
To: Mom
Gift of Time for herself
(pic of me laying on something...I guess he knows I need a break.
)
To: Dad
Gift of Coming home
(pic of his Dad in his car...this broke my heart
)
I love that little boy of mine, even though he is not so little anymore...and I can see that quite well here.
While everyone else wishes for materialistic things to give, sometimes kids wish for things we may be wishing for too but can't always say out loud.
It actually made me think about what I would give to the people I care about most if I really could give them anything...

Angel eyes, I think you have done a wonderful job raising your kids in a world as crazy as the one we have today. Trust in the strength of friendship and family and you will pull through this frustrating season ok. Have a wonderful day!
