So last night Bob, Doch, and I went to See Hank 3 and Nashville Pussy. I here a rumor that Reverend Horton Heat was going to play after I left, but I simply choose not to believe that. I find it hard to believe that anyone could follow Hank & Assjack let alone that played out hack. But still those rumors are at this time unfounded. And there was no photography allowed so I will not see physical eveidence to the contrary appear.
So Nashville Pussy weren't as bad as the name led me to believe, they had a couple of sexy gals as the sidemen and the crowd really seemed to be into them. Will I buy the cd? No, but I can only take so much Southern Rock. The remnants of Skynyrd has completely ruined it all for me.
Then the man the myth the legend's grandson hit stage. I have wanted to see this guy for a couple of years now and he didn't disappoint. I was really amazed by how much of his set I knew. I like it when I can sing along. He had some good tunes, and did a cover of "Cocaine Blues" which was really cool. Then they went into the Assjack set and I was floored!!! I was confused though, apparently their is a third band called hellbilly that comes out in the middle of the set, but Assjack is very fucking metal. I really wish they would release an official CD. But over all it was a really great show.
One side note... Have you ever noticed how the guys who were jocks in highschool become the drunk guys slamming into you at concerts? Now imagaine what it had to be like for me in the front with a bunch of these guys from the Philly suburbs, all thinking that they are some kind of hillbilly rednecks... Yeah, that really sucked.
And its really sad how long it's been since i've been to a concert... i don't think i've been to a REAL show in over a year. Just local band shows at bars and whatnot.
