Memorial Day Weekend
Nobody died, thankfully, so Sunday after work Me Swabby and Rachel hauled our asses down to Baltimore to see Apocalypse Theatre and Project.44... And what ensued was just one of those amazing random nights that you wish everyone could be apart of. First off we stopped at Roy Rogers on the trip down, mainly because I love that place. So after a bunch of my favorite fries and some Mello Yello we were back on the trip. It was then announced that Rachel's friend Marc would be meeting up with us at the venue, basically so he could meet Rach and I was like whatever, and as she told me about him I had to admit he sounded a little creepy so I was apprehensive about meeting him all together, but whatever. I'm always on my best behavior around new people, so no big deal. But man were we all surprised, Marc is a guy with a story, and a strange thing happened his story touched everyone at the club. I've never seen anything like it. We met some cool people. We met Ada, Tony, and Matthew from Red This Ever who were really funny and cool, but I totally offended Ada when I compared them to Ego Likeness, omg! I felt so bad but we made up. Then I got to meet Kat and the rest of Apox, who were all really cool in there own ways, and then I helped get them drunk, which is like the fourth or fifth thing I do best. Then we danced for a while, and though Marc said he never danced before he did very well for himself. Plus as usual I had to suggest drinks for Rachel, so mark this down, Apple Martini's yes, 99 bananas yes, jack daniels no. Then Project.44 played and according to what I read they were suppose to headline, but Levi the bass player and main draw for the band was not on tour, so they opened. Now I hate to be negative but with the missing personnel, various technical problems, and the fact they didn't sound check, they really sounded bad. They had a couple good tunes, but for the most part it sounded very tingy and the levels were never right, but still we had fun. Then because of the hour Marc had to leave so we walked him out, and Kat came running up the street to say goodbye. It was the sweetest thing we ever saw. She even squeezed out a tear or two, sorry dear the secrets out. But after that we went back in and drank some more while they changed the stage, and then Swabby had to leave because his family was picking him up from the venue, and he too missed Apox. Then Mercury Mad did a very short set, which was awesome! He's playing guitar for Apox so his performance was a total surprise. Then the band I've been waiting to see for four years played. Apocalypse Theatre were amazing, there is just no other way to say it. This band should be bigger than they are, all there tunes are really catchy and the change off on vocals between V, Kat, Stacy, and Lindsey was so cool and when they played "Codename Bunny" wow! It was such a good time. Swabby took most of the pictures so I only got a couple with my phone. But they suck so you will just have to imagine!
Then Monday after a late sleep, and being hung over I went out for sushi with Angel Joe and Ayla. It was a good time, I got to make fun of Ayla and her special needs, cause it's what I do, and e and Joe talked about doing some music together, and it seems we're getting closer and closer to actually doing something.
Today I'm just sitting around when there is so much to do.
