Isn't it funny the problems life puts before you? I mean, there are problems you will have to face that never in your wildest dreams did you think would be a problem. For instance, having to figure out a way to make a doggy diaper for a Great Dane, creating variety when faced with creating several hundred zombies, and the latest and greatest problem to find a solution to....containing agressive ninja trained chickens.
I grew up in suburbia, even better Hawaiian suburbia...which is a million miles away from being rural. So now that we are faced with this move to Ewa, I have a new variety of wierd things I never thought I'd have to figure out. The first issue being that my dogs like catching birds and my boyfriend's mom has chickens running all around their yard. So, to keep the chickens alive and my dogs out of trouble, I need to figure out a way to keep the chickens out of harms way. Well ok, out of my way too because chickens are creepy eratic beasts that plot to come after you like an L.A. street gang just as soon as you drop you guard. So, how does one solve this problem and avoid the poultry menace? The answer came to me completely accidentaly while surfing this site. Turns out Twwly knows a lot about the whole chicken situation and shares a video about one of these....
Brilliance! Now the chickens can run around, lay eggs, eat bugs, and not be devil beasts! So we just need to put one of these together and put a coop together and the threat is gone. I know this seems like a lot but part of the reasons we are moving is to help his folks out. They work at night and sleep during the day so I don't mind helping out with the animals and the yard. No clue what to do about the cats though....never really had cats or was around cats growing up so....yeah....his mom did mention wanting to make a cat kennel. Heh, I want to make it look like it's from the 1800's and call it the cat house. They have a lot of cats, it's insane....we're talking close to cat lady numbers here.
Also his mom said that I could plant what ever I wanted too. So excited about that! So gonna plant a garden so I can make Puerto Rican food....herbs and veggies and stuff. Also came up with a neat idea for a dog garden to plant near the kennel. Hawaii sucks when it comes to mosquito issues so I came up with a garden that won't poisen the dogs but will keep the bugs away....feeling so smart right now!
I know this sounds terribly domestic but I have all sorts of stuff to look forward to once I'm out of this place! I'm just not looking forward to all of the moving stuff that has to happen between now and then. So yeah I also heard Ewa Beach is great for bikes, so I'm thinking that would be pretty rad since where I live now has no real side walks and it's nothing but hills. So I can't wait to get myself a nice beach cruiser and take my dogs out and about. This one seems ok....since I can't quite afford to do any of my custom ideas yet.
So yeah, that's what's bouncing around my brain meats, hopefully I can find the time to fit in school work, work, and creating a luchador quilt on top of it all.

Livestock skillz=not my area of expertise either, but you seem like a quick study.
Themed quilts! My friend is having a baby, they just found out the 9th the gender: a little boy... they live really close to Huntington Beach and she decided to do a nautical theme... sailboats, and achors and light houses and what not... I want to make something for the baby's room since I will be 'psuedo-aunt' but i wasn't sure what... a quilt would be amazing but I really have no skills in the sewing department so I was thinking little square canvases with that sort of themed illustrations... hm.
